Employment Pass (EP)

The Employment Pass (EP) is designed for foreign professionals, managers, and executives who have a job offer in Singapore. Employers or appointed employment agents are responsible for applying for the EP on behalf of the employee.

This pass is directly linked to the employment contract and is canceled once the employment ends. To qualify for the EP, applicants must have a fixed monthly salary starting from SGD 5,000, with higher salary thresholds required for older applicants and those in the financial services sector. The applicant’s qualifications must also meet the standards comparable to local PMET qualifications.

Experienced tech professionals with in-demand skills may qualify for a five-year EP. Holders of the EP earning at least SGD 6,000 per month may apply for Dependant’s Passes for family members. EP holders are not subject to foreign worker levies or quotas, and employers may opt to provide medical insurance. Tax obligations may apply, and EP holders are required to fulfill them accordingly.
